Managers and owners of post-modern organizations are faced with new challenges triggered by sudden changes in the business world. The monograph The Way to Excellence emerged as a valuable output of a business venture in three successful companies: Prevent, Perutnina and Kolektor. It was written at the time when Slovenia was building its own economy in a highly complex and globalized world.

The authors particularly emphasise the practices to understand the complex internal and external environment and the development of the model of excellence. The cyclic performance of an organization using the planning scheme is introduced and linked to the organizational culture in the process of systemic changes.
